Brunch name: “Your Sunday Best” Brunch Buffet at Atelier, Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit

What: Menu highlights include seafood on ice with king crab, snow crab, oysters, mussels, and shrimp, along with grilled seafood specialties like prawn and squid, and premium grilled meats, including Wagyu beef and lamb.

It features a wide-ranging international buffet featuring a carving station, Chinese station, Indian curries, risotto, and pasta with sauce. Also, foie gras, 15 different types of fine cheese, and a garden salad bar also offering soups of the day.

For dessert, there’s a chocolate fountain, crêpe Suzettes, Thai sweets, and more.

Sunday brunch is special for children too, with a kids’ corner featuring a magician and balloon clown.

LE Review: Eat around the world in three hours. Sunday Brunch at Atelier is a great option for those who like to try different things, but tend to prefer subtle flavors—catered to a more “international” palate—rather than with a strong accent based on a cumin-loaded chicken biryani or unbearable fiery Thai dishes. Instead, this brunch offers the possibility of trying traditional preparations from China, Spain, Japan, Italy, India and, of course, Thailand, where even the most skeptical will find something to enjoy.

Their seafood corner offers, among others: two types of oysters, New Zealand mussels, king crab, coffee-marinated salmon, and caviar – try the latter over sour cream on thin toast. Just this seafood section makes this Sunday brunch one with great value and, on top of this, at least 50 percent of the buffet’s ingredients are imported, offering a high level of quality overall.

Other highlights from around the world enjoyed by our team were the Peking duck, the barbecued suckling pig, salmon sashimi, tandoori prawns, seared foie gras, Isaan-inspired roasted chicken with sticky rice and, of course, the large paella cooked live is a must-try, together with some Serrano ham, from the carving station. From the grill, the salt-pepper lamb with red wine sauce is a winner.

Their wide selection of dishes makes it hard to decide where to start (maybe with some Spanish tapas or sushi rolls?), but surely you will want to finish with some chocolate goodies from the dessert station and/or a selection of international cheeses.

The kids’ corner – a space for children to play while parents can watch them from a nearby table – also makes it a family-friendly place.

For drinks, you can either stay with the free-flowing soft drinks included in the price, or you can upgrade to the free-flowing alcoholic beverages package, including Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine (100 percent Chardonnay), local beers, white and red table wines, and house cocktails. If you go for the latter, our pairing suggestion is to have them in the same order, and to start with the fresh seafood station and salads, continue with the European and Asian dishes, and finish with some fresh fruit dipped in the chocolate fountain. Alternatively, you can always order premium wines a la carte. Just don’t forget to leave tea full-body reds for the fattier, richer dishes. (See our LE Secret Tips below for a plan D.)

Just a warning: be careful as your eyes might be hungrier than your stomach and, after this brunch, you might end up not being able to eat anything until the next day… at least we couldn’t.
