A sparkling evening of fine wines and fine food with a five-course tasting menu paired with vintage champagnes by Dom Pérignon and Moët & Chandon are on offer from Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. On Saturday 19th December, Michelin starred Chef Henk Savelberg of Savelberg Bangkok is reuniting with his former protegee, Chef Rick Dingen of Madison, to create a flawless French flair menu designed to complement the exquisite flavour notes of Dom Pérignon’s finest years of champagnes.
The intimate event offers local foodies and gourmands the opportunity to taste Dom Pérignon champagnes such as the star of the show Plénitude 2 Vintage 2002, the second coming of the legendary 2002 vintage and the 2008 Vintage Blanc, hailed as a champagne miracle due to the exceptional conditions of that year. These are paired with show stopping dishes including foie gras and poached veal. The Vintage Blanc 2009 that boasts grapes harvested at the peak of ripeness, emerges for the lobster entrée whilst the meal is closed with the remarkable Rosé Vintage 2006, a stylish and mesmerising blush.
Chef Henk is the only Dutch chef to have been awarded a Michelin star in five different restaurants. In 2016 upon his arrival in Bangkok from the Netherlands, Chef Rick finessed his skills at the Savelberg restaurant under Henk’s tutelage. Together these two outstanding Dutch chefs crafted this menu to showcase the very best of each of their skills. From Chef Henk’s signature appreciation of premium seafood demonstrated in his paring of premium langoustine with caviar, to Chef Rick’s love of incorporating local ingredients to classic French dishes, such as coupling Thai pomelo with the finest imported lobster. Guests can expect a menu centred round classic French flavours with a subtle Asian twist, elevated by the unmistakable taste notes of Dom Pérignon champagne.
Decked out with magical festive decorations, and entertained by live music this will truly be a night to remember and the perfect way to ring in the festive season and toast to new beginnings with the onset of 2021.
