Van Gogh SENSES, an art-themed concept store dedicated to Vincent van Gogh announced the opening of its newest venture, Van Gogh SENSES Gifts in Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts (Tai Kwun), opened this month.

Bringing an appreciation of art into everyday life for all senses to experience, the latest Van Gogh SENSES Gifts re-imagines the concept of gift-giving. Designed to be more than just a place to shop, it is where customers can experience the art of “gifting” and select the perfect curated surprise for their loved ones. Visitors have the option to create special “gift combos” inspired by some of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings from the large selection of exclusive products such as Confectionery, Teas and Coffees, Flowers and Museum Collection items available in store.

Van Gogh’s inspiration can be seen in the brand new beverages including “Sunflower Bouquet Cold Brew Tea”, alongside luscious Cold Brew Coffee and other artisanal delicacies. Unique to the store, all of the packaging used for the gifts are inspired by the great master’s work, such as the “Wheatfield with a Reaper Confectionery Box” which features one of this scenic landscapes. Other special gifts include a “Tea Combo” that has his work “Small Bottle with Peonies and Blue Delphiniums” on the packaging, contains five teabags and a tea helper.

Designed with the natural elements in mind, one of Van Gogh’s greatest inspirations, the newest boutique is filled with natural light flooding in through the historic wooden French doors. The store transforms Van Gogh’s art in the form of a river of floating butterflies flying through the store – a tribute to “Poppies and Butterflies.” For those looking to immerse themselves not only in the world of Van Gogh but the 21st century, the “Sunflowers Wall”, inspired by his iconic masterpiece, is the best area to capture the perfect moment.

To celebrate the opening, Van Gogh SENSES is launching a month-long campaign “Best Sunflowers at Tai Kwun” on Facebook (@vangoghsenses). Visitors are invited to take their photo in front of the “Sunflowers Wall” and share it on Facebook. The winner of the best weekly image will be rewarded an HKD 200 Van Gogh SENSES gift voucher. What’s more? The first 50 participants of the above campaign on June 16 and 17 will also receive a complimentary box of mini-palmier. Terms and conditions apply.

From now until June 30, patrons at 1881 Heritage flagship store will receive an HKD 50 voucher, which can be used at Van Gogh SENSES Gifts at Tai Kwun upon spending of HKD 120 on retail products. Customers at Tai Kwun will also receive an HKD 50 voucher for any purchase, and that can be used at 1881 Heritage flagship store upon spending of HKD 120 on retail products or HKD 500 on F&B consumption.

Inspired by “arts, culture and heritage,” the newly revitalized Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts lies in the heart of Hong Kong and was the site of the former Central Police Station (CPS). Renamed “Tai Kwun,” the local colloquial name used by police officers and the public alike to refer to the former police headquarters and the surrounding CPS compound, the name has now been adopted as a reminder of the historical importance of the compound.

Open daily between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. a visit to Van Gogh SENSES Gifts will leave guests immersed in the history and heritage of Tai Kwun the timelessness of the painter’s masterpieces while encouraging them to “Be Inspired by the Inspired.”
