New themed family suites create an animal kingdom for kids at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok

Two-bedroom tiger themed family suite

Seven animal-themed family suites are the latest additions to the choice of flexible luxury accommodation at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, the five-star resort-style property located at the heart of the city.

Each family suite is named after a member of Thailand’s animal kingdom and includes an attractive selection of games and entertainment for younger guests.

Six two-bedroom themed family suites, each measuring a spacious 120 sqm, are themed as follows: Kingo the Monkey; Katty the Tiger; Kao Kao the Panda; Kquincy the Hare; Ko Ko the singing Bird; and Kitsu the Fox. The one-bedroom themed family suite, measuring 80 sqm, is themed as Kaja the Elephant.

The songs of Ko Ko, the Thai singing bird, are very distinctive and are easily identified in Thailand’s woodlands and forests. Ko Ko uses eight different tones to communicate with family and friends. These birds have beautiful colours on their feathers and a crest on their heads.

Kingo is a type of monkey that is a very familiar sight in many parts of Thailand. Although the monkeys’ natural habitat is the jungle, they enjoy adventures with their friends. These monkeys are often spotted on beaches, golf courses, hotel gardens and private homes. Bananas are their favourite food.

Katty the Tiger is a large majestic cat that roams the jungles of Southeast Asia. She is an excellent swimmer and can also jump to heights of over five metres. When she is fully grown, her fur coat will have more than 100 stripes that provide important camouflage when hunting for food in the jungle.

Each family suite features unique designs and illustrations by Max Studio, a Bangkok-based international company that specialises in hospitality design, and hand-drawn illustrations by Suthipa Kamyam – a very talented Thai artist who has used her creative skills in the diverse storytelling to blend imagination with reality. As a result, younger guests are able to identify with the theme of their suite and learn more about each animal’s habitat in Thailand.

“Inside each suite exists a sensory experience, where kids are invited to explore and create their unique ‘den’ which they can call their own while staying with us. We have created an environment in which children return to more conventional, interactive playtime experiences using drawing materials, board games and books,” explains hotel managing director Richard Schestak.

“Guests staying in the elephant suite, for example, will learn much more about the lives of elephants in Thailand and why the elephant is a treasured and sacred beast in Thai culture.”

A crafted journey with several elements has been designed to surprise and delight the little guests. Every family that books an animal-themed suite also enjoys additional benefits at the hotel’s partner stores and entertainment venues including KidZania, Sealife, Madame Tussauds and ToysRUs.

The new one-bedroom Themed Family Suite is priced per night from THB 17,000++ (approximately USD 530++) and is subject to a 10% service charge and 7% government tax.
