Luxury hotel brand 137 pillars recently launched a new menu at their Asian fusion restaurant Nimitr.
Situated in soi 39, the hotel is easily accessible from both BTS and by road from Sukhumvit. Nimitr is located on 27th floor of this luxury boutique hotel and offers a panoramic view of the extensive Bangkok skyline and makes it a perfect spot for a romantic date night.
From the moment you step in the hotel you can’t miss the attention that has been given to the details. The name “Nimitr” means a “‘special dream” in Thai, and you can see every effort put in to make it look like one – from the huge and beautiful painting in lobby to the wooden door at the entrance of the restaurant, the two-storey long glass windows, rustic royal blue shaded décor, and a delicate chandelier all add luxury to the overall ambience. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
Indonesian chef Nanang Prasetya is a master in Asian and oriental fusion cooking, and this clearly shows in the dishes he serves, each with wonderful presentation and appeals to your senses even before it touches your mouth.
The restaurant has recently launched a fresh new menu and few of the dishes from that menu are worth mentioning.
- Yam Sam O: Pomelo salad served with a very interesting tamarind sauce dressing with Asian spices, accompanied with scallops from Hokkaido and salmon roe. The dish was a fine balance of flavors.
- Teriyaki Pork Belly: The Kurobuta pork belly was perfectly cooked and served with homemade Teriyaki sauce (which was delicious!) and Shimeji mushrooms and asparagus.
Ikan Bakar: The grilled sea bass just melts in your mouth. It is served with sambal matah (an Indonesian salsa made of shallots and chili) on morning glory with a crab cromesquis. The fish was marinated in a spicy mix of Asian flavors
- Save some room for desserts as the Warm Crispy Apple Tart (beautifully served with a crispy puff pastry top and fresh cut apples) and Mango Sticky Rice (artistically served with homemade coconut ice cream) are simply delicious and worth a try.
At Nimitr attention is given to not just the food and ingredients, but also on the presentation of every dish which makes it an equally great treat for the sight.
