Ronnefeldt_Tea Master close up01Bangkok’s latest tea lounge recently opened on the first floor of Gaysorn Shopping Center, which can be seen from the skytrain as it arrives into the Phrom Phong station. This is the first example of the Ronnefeldt Lifestyle Tea Lounges, a concept created by the Next Hospitality Group – an innovative, detail-focused F&B consultancy founded by industry professionals Russell Paine and Harry Littlewood in 2012. Similar lounges are soon to be rolled out through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Teehaus Ronnefeldt, a family owned company, was founded in Frankfurt am Main Germany in 1823. The brand is synonymous with premium quality teas, blended by experts specializing in importing, blending, and aromatizing top quality teas from the world’s major growing regions such as India, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan, and Japan. There is no tea garden too remote in their quest for sourcing excellent teas from their network of long-trusted partners. All of the teas are processed in an orthodox manner, plucked two leaves and one bud at time, and then handcrafted into exceptional blends.

Ronnefeldt_Afternoon Tea FashionLoose-leaf teas are also available for retail sale, packaged in specially designed tins. In addition to their excellent tea portfolio, two blends have been created for this lounge to represent the location. The Bangkok Blend is flowery and made with Chinese oolong tea with papaya and pineapple flavors that result in a sensational combination. The Gaysorn Blend is made with Pai Mu Tan white tea from Fujian, China, has flavors of ripe mango with a hint of citric notes, and is an elegant fine tea with subtle flowery flavors and smooth tannins.

Until the end of September they will be serving an Austrian Afternoon Tea, which will include exclusive items such as Imperial Torte designed in honor of Emperor Franz Joseph I, with cacao cream layered between thin almond wafers enveloped in marzipan and dark chocolate, and Mozartkugel or Mozart balls made with nougat, marzipan, and dark chocolate.

Ronnefeldt_Macaron02For those looking for something a little stronger there’s a selection of red, white, and sparkling wine plus Champagne while you relax to soothing music through the B&O sound system.

In addition, a selection of pastries, cakes, and jams are available to take-away plus a selection of teas and chinaware, Italian biscotti and delightful artisanal chocolates – some infused with Ronnefeldt tea.
