The Bling Ring

The-Bling-Ring-Official-Movie-Trailer2A group of teenagers form a “Bling Ring” and track celebrities’ whereabouts to rob their homes while they are out. Some of the fame-obsessed burglars´ victims include Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, and Orlando Bloom. The satirical comedy is written, produced and directed by Sofia Coppola, and based on actual events, regarding the Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch, which reportedly stole about $3 million in cash and belongings from over 50 homes in California in 2008 and 2009.

Elysium

elysium-firstposter-full2The sci-fi action film is based on an awful scenario, set in the year 2159, where the wealthy live on Elysium, a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on the ruined Earth. In the darkest times of despair, there however is one man, who takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds. He is Max DeCosta (Matt Damon), a 36-year-old factory worker who has to make it from Los Angeles to Elysium in five days in order to cure his cancer virus caught from an industrial accident. He kidnaps a rich businessman, and with his identity is set on his way to Elysium, where great dangers await.

Sadako

sadakoSadako is actually Sadako 3D 2, a sequel for the horrors of Japanese Ring movies (2002-). Even after several years, the cursed videoclip continues to take its toll on poor watchers. In this one, the spotlight is on Akane, a high school teacher who hears a rumor from her students that there is actual footage on the Internet of someone’s suicide. The footage is said to drive anyone who sees it to also commit suicide. Akane does not believe the rumor at first, but when one of her female students dies after viewing the footage, she and her boyfriend Takanori are fatefully drawn into the horror that has been created by the man who appears in the suicide footage, Kashiwada. Kashiwada’s intention is to create chaos in the world by bringing back Sadako and the power of her curse. Now Akane has to fight against Sadako and Kashiwada to save the lives of herself and Takanori — or is it too late?

But few know more about the background, early life and aspirations of this computer age genius. For the curious, this movie follows the ascension of Steve Jobs from a college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century. Ashton Kutcher stars as Jobs, and it must be said, with remarkable lookalike features.

Malavita

Fitting in soon becomes challenging as old habits die hard. The French crime comedy is based on the novel Malavita (English translation Badfellas, 2010) by Tonino Benacquista. Some of the stars in the film include Robert De Niro acting the mafioso and Michelle Pfeiffer his wife.

Ain't Them Bodies Saints

Ain-t-Them-Bodies-Saints_frA notorious American outlaw escapes from prison and sets out across the Texas hills to reunite with his beloved wife and a daughter he has never met. The independent drama film debuted at 2013 Sundance Film Festival and won the Cinematography Award in the U.S. Dramatic Category, and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. Casey Affleck stars as Bob Muldoon, the outlaw who would always step up and serve a prison sentence instead of his wife, Ruth Guthrie, acted by Rooney Mara.
