Glitz and glamour at the Continent Hotel Bangkok launch.
The city of Bangkok came alive recently with the impressive launch party for The Continent Hotel, Bangkok. Celebrities, models, and the cream of the city’s business community – over 450 people in total – came to celebrate this new five-star hotel in the heart of Bangkok’s busiest and most happening location.
The Continent Hotel, Bangkok promised to transport guests to new worlds to formally debut their stunning building – and the month-old establishment truly surpassed expectations.
“The Continent Hotel Bangkok is proud and honored to have hosted such a fine event, enjoyed by so many,” says Zaki Baz, general
manager of the Continent Hotel, Bangkok. “We aim to showcase this hotel as the elegant, modern and captivating location that it is and I believe we achieved that.”
Beginning with an exclusive media briefing and tour, guests began arriving in their hundreds by 6:30 p.m. for a chance to enjoy the centrally-located Asoke hotel and the sumptuous food, drinks, and entertainment in store. Celebrities, such as the beautiful Bowie Atthama, stunning cover girl Woonsen Virithipa and actor Lek Teeradetch lent their star-power to the attractive crowd.
Held over four levels, the party was based upon the themes used within the hotel – Ocean, Desert, Space, and Forest – to transform fine Italian restaurant Medinii, H2O Pool Bar,and double-level lounge, Axis & Spin, into a tantalizing party center.
Emcee for the evening was TV personality Panita Boonyakiet who was dressed in F Fashion couture wear. She welcomed guests with the hotel GM and owners, Mr. Boonrith, Mr. Montri, and Mrs. Rachanee Sirinarinthon into the desert-themed Medinii, where professional belly dancer Hadassa hypnotized guests with her undulating moves, while a striking female James Bond interacted with guests.
The élite Ralph Lauren Time Pieces Lounge sponsored by S.T. Dimension Watch Boutique also graced the floor of Medinii. Visitors were treated to delectable international cuisine, while enjoying avant-garde cocktails in The Continent’s four logo colors featuring innovative ingredients like fresh cinnamon quills, orchids, Thai basil and more. Thailand’s premiere wine and spirits importer, Diageo Moet Hennessy Thailand, sponsored the beverages.
The open-air H2O Pool Bar on level 37, became an aquatic paradise. The Greek Islands inspired site, with its own vine forest, played host to a crowd pleasing gold-laden female Poseidon, an ethereal mermaid and an entrancing Poison Ivy. While at level 38, chic Axis Bar became outer space with original lighting treatments to emulate stars and galaxy-inspired cocktails to dance on the palate. Here, alluring Andromeda elegantly chained to the feature spiral staircase held pride of place.
Finally, the very top of the building was the aptly themed ‘Heaven,’ at Spin Bar. DJ Cleo P kept the dance floor pumping while bodypainted Athena, the Greek goddess of war, and Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and pleasure, came to life among the clouds 39 floors up, overlooking the city lights.
Stylish guests mingled between the unique levels as drinks flowed. Lasting into the small hours of the morning, The Continent Hotel Bangkok’s launch party was without a doubt the hottest place to be. Ending the night in style, all guests were thanked for their attendance with extravagant gift bags from sponsors.
