Bangkok – December, 2012 – HRH Princess Soamsawali recently graciously presided at the 29th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok to celebrate the 85th birthday of HM King Bhumibhol, to thank our loyal clients and friends and to welcome the festive season.

This year also marks the 6th year that the Christmas Tree Charity Project was organized by the hotel with Livingetc. and Wallpaper* magazine and various sponsors along with a handful of celebrity artists designing their trees. The best decorated Christmas Tree by popular votes went to the tree of Sonite Innovative Surfaces Co.,Ltd by Dr. Singh Intrachooto which had a concept of the green Christmas Tree takes on the traditional form, look and feel of a festive Christmas tree but has three significance re-interpretation:

1. Christmas tree celebrates “sustainable future” by using recycled materials “Scapa” in the making of a festive and sparkling tree.
2. Christmas tree lays horizontally to signify the need for green spaces in urban areas.
3. Christmas tree is not merely decorative but functional: seats in a landscape.

The winner went home with a trophy presented by HRH Princess Soamsawali.

The Christmas trees are displayed around Parichart Court, the open-air courtyard at the hotel until December 26, 2012. Proceeds from the company donations will go toward the ‘‘Hematological Cancer Research Centre’ at Chulalongkorn Hospital in support of the research projects undertaken by the centre.
